If the Mayor and the President Know About Beglaryan’s Café, Then…, an Environmentalist Says (Recording)

June 11,2012 16:24

“I cannot imagine that the mayor and the president of the republic can do such a thing. After such a fuss, operating a café in Abovyan St. just like that, without their being aware of it is impossible and if they are aware, it means that the city doesn’t have a mayor, the country doesn’t have a president,” Hakob Sanasaryan, the president of the Union of Greens, said about the operation of a new café in the place of the booths in Abovyan St. According to him, the mayor’s statement that Abovyan St. had been returned to residents of Yerevan along with its green space was actually a lie, “Those who have a problem of earning their living have suffered and those who have their businesses both in the Zangu Canyon and other places, everywhere, since they are powerful, can do everything through financial leverage. In Armenia, the system of government is separated from the state and the people and they solve problems among themselves and say good words to each other and pave the way for their trade. These people see Yerevan not as a capital, but as coastal centers of trade, where there is a system of cafeterias and cafes. I.e. this is not a capital. Can you imagine the disappointment of the people who, listening to the president of the republic, believed, certainly, first of all the mayor that he had finally returned this small street to them?”

Let us remind that the café of former mayor, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group member Gagik Beglaryan’s brother Yura has been operating in Abovyan St. for a few days already.VOICE248
