“Increasing the Birth Rate Is Not a Function of the Cabinet,” Alexander Arzumanyan Says to the Prime Minister

“I haven’t seen anything in the program,” Nikol Pashinyan stated in his speech addressing the National Assembly. He told that he had been to Dilijan recently, he had seen such destructed roads of international significance that he had asked whether government representatives, the Republican Party of Armenia, had not driven along that road. The locals informed Pashinyan that they had driven, but they “had had sand rammed into the pits and it had remained like that until the next rainfall.”

Nikol Pashinyan has seen no assessment of today’s situation in the program of the Cabinet, according to him, the Cabinet was guided by the principle “the less we say about today’s problems, the better,” “The Cabinet doesn’t mention how much the poverty rate is today, the one who reads thinks that Tigran Sargsyan’s Cabinet decreased the poverty to 11% in the past and now it wants to eradicate it.”

Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) MP Mikayel Melkumyan stated that one should call right things right and wrong things wrong, “In Armenia, 98 000 people are extremely poor today, we should examine how the economy should develop in this case. Who said that construction should develop and other branches should not? We should trust government bodies. Why do we constantly talk about Georgia, perhaps we love it, are engaged in its PR.”

According to Alexander Arzumanyan’s observation, “You have 4-year experience, you are not a new Prime Minister, you could have implemented such a program of good wishes before. This is a Cabinet to hold a peaceful, serene presidential election, so to say, to get through the winter. Increasing the birth rate, diagnosing correctly are not functions of the Cabinet, why haven’t you diagnosed correctly so far, if you created conditions, people would give birth and would be diagnosed correctly. The improvement of life should be visible, in order that one doesn’t want to flee, he wants to have a baby. These are all toasts; we can call it a collection of toasts. You have given one number – the GDP growth – the international risks are unprecedented, you have given a 40-page-long program and on the last two pages it reads why you will not implement it.”
