The Ministry Has Discussed the Issue of Transferring the Major Doctor Beaten up at Harsnakar Abroad

Yesterday, in order to rescue the life of the major doctor beaten up at Harsnakar, a consultation was convened at the Ministry of Healthcare and they discussed the issue of

inviting a doctor from abroad or transferring the major doctor, fighting for his life at the moment, abroad. Derenik Dumanyan, the newly-appointed Minister of  Healthcare, informed www.aravot.am about this. He said that he had put that issue forward for the consideration of the participants in the consultation yesterday, but the latter had advised to neither invite a doctor from abroad nor transfer Vahe, “They said that no other specialist could do anything more than they were doing. Now specialists watch day and night, I want to hope that we will be able to rescue the major doctor’s life.” In response to our question whether there was hope that everything would be good, the minister said, “The doctor should always have hope, if he doesn’t, it is not good.”

In recent years there have been a few cases of beating doctors up. The minister recalled the incident in the region of Shirak, when an ambulance doctor had been beaten, “We condemned, he was on duty, it was a very sad incident. The latest incident was also very sad, admittedly, it is a commonplace incident, but, all the same, I am very sorry.”

The minister stated that there was a lot to do in his field. In response to our observation that Mr. Kushkyan had made things start moving, the minister said, “However forward Kushkyan has moved them, there is still a lot to do. There is a lot to do in every field.” In response to our question whether there were shortcomings, Mr. Dumanyan said, “Only 4 days have passed, I haven’t noticed. I have been in the system for many years, nonetheless, given the fact that I haven’t been around for the past 8 years, I ask about all details, get acquainted.”

The minister didn’t agree that corruption was wide-spread in the system of healthcare and that money continued to flow into the doctor’s pocket, “I myself haven’t given, I don’t know, but I don’t deny that there may be such cases.” He, informing that today was the Doctor’s, Medical Workers’ Day, urged not to talk about bad things at least today, “Let us congratulate them, and wish that they are provided for and that they do not open their pockets for anyone. Be sure that doctors are proud, they aren’t pleased even with opening the pocket, let us talk about good things today.”
