Today the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will commence in Strasburg. Shortly before the start of the plenary meeting, the meeting of the PACE Bureau had finished, at which they talked also about the election that took place in Armenia on May 6.

According to Davit Harutyunyan, the head of the Armenian delegation, Andreas Herkel, the co-rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Monitoring Group on Azerbaijan, made a statement, saying that his statement on the multiple votes during the Armenian National Assembly election was a result of misunderstanding. He stated today that what he had said had been perceived incorrectly and that he hadn’t witnessed any such violation and asked to make a correction in the report. No other issue regarding Armenia was on the agenda or was discussed by the Bureau today. By the way, today, at 3:30 p.m. local time, the delegations of the Republic of Armenia and Azerbaijan will meet with Jean Claude Mignon, the President of the PACE, to discuss issues regarding Nagorno-Karabakh.
