A Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Denies That He Wants to Build His Second Hydroelectric Power Plant

July 02,2012 14:26

During a conversation with www.aravot.am, Gagik Minasyan, an RPA MP, said, in response to a question whether the news that he was going to build his second power plant was accurate, “Nonsense. It doesn’t correspond to the reality.”

Gagik Minasyan is a shareholder of Bitlis-Men LLC, which has a hydroelectric power plant on the Artashat Canal. As for how and for what money the MP has built a hydroelectric power plant, the latter has mentioned loan money as a source and as to where the MP had found money to build the second hydroelectric power plant is unclear. Gagik Minasyan said in regard to this that he had talked about the first hydroelectric power plant he had many times, “I am one of the shareholders of that LLC and the LLC has a hydroelectric power plant, only that single power plant. And my tax declarations have mentioned that all the time for the past 8 years. It cannot be novel.” We inquired whether he was not planning to build a new hydroelectric power plant, he assured, “Certainly, no.”

Gagik Minasyan denies that he is a businessman, since, as you know, the law doesn’t forbid MPs to be owners or shareholders.
