The Political Science Association of Armenia condemns the violence used by Armenian National Assembly member Ruben Hayrapetyan’s security and workers of Harsnakar
Restaurant owned by his family against officers of the Military Forces of the Republic of Armenia, and sympathizes with the nearest and dearest of Major of Medical Service Vahe Avetyan who became a victim of that violence.
The Political Science Association of Armenia assesses the rooted culture of violence as not only a phenomenon that gives rise to human tragedy, but also as a real threat to the national security, which can even threaten the Armenian statehood given the security challenges facing Armenia.
Under such circumstances, rooting the understanding of state interests’ supremacy, along with the formation of social relations and modern political culture, becomes vital. The Political Science Association of Armenia as a professional company offers Ruben Hayrapetyan to be guided by these pre-eminent interests and to hand in his resignation from the parliament at his own initiative in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and Article 13 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly Act, and to stop political activities.
