apartments, “The odor becomes pungent particularly in the summer – when they come to take away the garbage, the smell becomes unbearable and we lock all doors and windows.”
Since the residents of the building don’t pin any hopes on the condominium, they propose their own solution – to dismantle the garbage chute.
“The neighboring buildings have had them dismantled and there is no garbage smell anymore. Let them put the garbage containers in some convenient place and we will take the garbage out of the building by ourselves rather than live under those anti-hygienic and insanitary conditions for thousands of years. And breed rodents next to us. Not to mention that children have to deal with that dirt every day,” they complain.
Garbage is not the only problem of the residents of the building. The 35-year-old elevator is as old as the garbage chute. Before the National Assembly election, the residents of 12 Marr had been promised to have the freight elevator of the building operating, however, after the election the promise has been forgotten. The building populated by around 100 families relies on only one elevator, the technical condition of which raises concerns among the residents. The entrance of the building is also worn out, “The walls are covered with dirt and the stairs are cracked. It is unclear for what the condominium collects money, if it is not going to deal with such problems at least to some extent,” the residents communicated their complaints to www.aravot.am.
