At the moment, the trial of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) activists in the law court of Kentron and Nork-Marash communities continues. www.aravot.am inquired of Tigran Arakelyan how he felt and what expectations he had, “I am well, thank you. You treat this too seriously,” Tigran Arakelyan answered, saying half in jest half seriously that he expected they would imprison for some 10 years, “Taking into account that they have gotten here, they will imprison for some 9 years.”

The prosecution presented in its indictment that the charges brought against Tigran Arakelyan had been grounded by aggrieved Volodya Grigoryan’s testimony. He presented in his testimony that he had been performing his duty on the day of the incident, he had met a young man walking a very big dog who had brought the dog to a public place without a maze, he reprimanded, the young man accepted his mistake, apologized and left. However, ANC activists – in particular, Tigran Arakelyan and Artak Karapetyan – arrived, used

offensive words while talking about him, pulled him around, tore off his shoulder strap and badge. Their friends joined them afterwards – Sargis Gevorgyan kicked the police officer in the stomach and the neck so strongly that he fell.

According to the testimony of the aggrieved, the guys broke the nose of one of the police officers, scratched another police officer’s hands, beat, cursed and pulled him around for 10-15 minutes. The court session continues.
