www.aravot.am inquired of Alex Sardar, the head of the Counterpart International Armenia, whether what happened to Civilitas nowadays worried him, taking into consideration that the next could be the organization he headed or another representative of the field. Mr. Sardar replied in this manner, “Certainly, it worries me. Generally, all problems that are in the civil society concern us as an organization. Unfair actions and approaches to a certain organization are a standard and an indication for us what obstacles the field may face. Certainly, the same thing can happen to us, since the field needs systemic changes. And one should put forward what functions should be performed to defend interests, in order that such phenomena are prevented. It should be in the legislative and legal fields. Therefore, one should be consistent, particularly, in terms of approaches with such political motivations.”
In response to a question whether he thought that Vartan Oskanian might appear behind the bars, A. Sardar said, “I personally am not aware of the problem, but I hope that it will not happen.”
