The Beetles Will Never Be out of Date, The Prime Minister Says (Video and Photo Album)

July 23,2012 15:43

As we have informed, on July 21, the Inrock club was opened in Cascade, at 38  Isahakyan Street. The event was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran

Sargsyan, the president of the Armenian Rock Association council of trustees, Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan and others.

Former Minister of Education and Culture Spartak Seyranyan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Supreme Body in Armenia, mentioned in his opening speech that the club would make its contribution to the cultural life of Yerevan, “It will not be another place of entertainment, but a place where music lovers will be able to listen to high-quality music, as well as play, sing and communicate with each other.” Mr. Seyranyan added that besides rock, classical and spiritual music would also be played in the club, “The discussions that will be held will concern any problem in various walks of life. Political and ideological boundaries are many in our country – I hope that the club will be a place where people, regardless of their political positions, will be able to discuss various issues for the sake of us all.”

Let us assert that the Inrock repertoire was reinforced by items of Spartak Seyranyan’s exclusive rock collection. During a conversation with www.aravot.am, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that the club would first of all contribute to the propaganda of rock music, “Rock is not only music, it is also a way of life. The level of Armenian rock has increased recently. We have 5-6 brilliant groups that can perform on the international stage, for example, MP Ray.”

The Prime Minister asserted that there were a lot of good performances of all music styles these days, “I personally listen to The Beetles – that band will never be out of date. I also like to listen to Pink Floyd very much.”

Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan stated that he wasn’t a rock fan, “It is just Spartak Seyranyan is my colleague and friend and I have come to congratulate him on opening the club. However, I remember that I used to buy the CDs of Metallica as early as in Soviet times.”
