“The SDHP is concerned about the existential problems of the Armenian community in Syria and we are very worried about the attitude of the Armenian government in this situation. We assess the steps taken late and insufficient,” Lyudmila Sargsyan, the leader of the SDHP and an Armenian National Congress (ANC) MP, said, criticizing the Armenian government’s passive attitude toward the Syrian Armenians during a conversation with www.aravot.am. In her assessment, the Armenian government wouldn’t have done even those insufficient steps, if there hadn’t been the pressure of the ANC and different social initiatives.
