Hrant Bagratyan, a former Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, stresses while talking about any indicator of growth presented by the Cabinet of the Republic of Armenia that those numbers are a bluff. Thus, today www.aravot.am asked Gagik Minasyan, the chairman of the National Assembly fiscal, budgetary and economic issues standing committee, to talk about the former Prime Minister’s skepticism. Mr. Minasyan avoided commenting on his colleague’s remarks using every means and stated that he had proved the contrary.
One of the targets of H. Bagratyan’s criticism is the shadow economy. He has stated lots of times that currently the shadow economy has become larger in our country than it was in 1996. In that regard, G. Minasyan said, “There is really a shadow economy in our country, it is the biggest problem of every country and every government does everything to reduce it. As for the comparison with 1996, it is hard for me to say anything, since I don’t know how Hrant Bagratyan assesses the shadow economy of 1996.”
