The citizens gradually become more concerned about the increase in natural gas prices – some people intend to prepare woodstoves in order to pay for winter expenses.
Kamo Vardanyan who lives in the neighborhood of Kanaker said during a conversation with www.aravot.am that he had calculated and found out that heating the apartment with wood was a few times cheaper, particularly, if one bought wood now. According to the citizen, if he buys wood worth 70 thousand AMD, he can heat his apartment for 3-4 months, whereas he burned natural gas worth 50-60 thousand AMD every month, “If the prices go up, those 50-60 thousand AMD will almost double – many of us gave up on heating with electricity preferring natural gas, as it was cheaper, whereas if the natural gas prices go up, that kind of fuel will not advantageous either. The civilized world advances, we regress. We have prepared the stoves that have remained from the years of dark and cold.”
There is no official information yet how much the natural gas prices will increase. In response to a question of www.aravot.am, the Ministry of Energy press department said that negotiations with the Russian side were under way and they hadn’t reached a final decision yet, “We will inform, once it is decided.”
