Hrant Bagratyan, a former Prime Minister, is convinced that the decision to break off diplomatic relations with Hungary was a stupid move. “It was the stupidest move, because breaking off relations at this moment will not allow finding out completely what happened. He took a step in their interest, it was a short-sighted step, perhaps puerile or maybe deliberate,” Mr. Bagratyan stated during a regular meeting with his supporters in Freedom Square today.
In his opinion, the Armenian government will try “to make a few cheap reserve moves” in the next few days in regard to what has happened and to win points, “It will be forgotten and unattended to in a few days… this is an individual case and the government will turn this individual case into a national problem. When did the Minister of Foreign Affairs work? People who have known him, have communicated with him for a long time know that he is incapable of work – they just want to eat in the restaurants they like at the state’s expense.”
Mr. Bagratyan is convinced that the Azerbaijani president gave bribes to concrete people in Hungary, “Catherine Ashton had better launch an investigation into whom Aliyev gave money instead of teaching us the European law and order… This is the business of the European Union too. Armenia must play hell with Hungary.”
