“Certainly, yes,” this was the answer of Ruben Hakobyan, the leader of the Heritage Party parliamentary group, to a question of www.aravot.am whether he thought that the time had come for Armenia’s recognition of the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
“There have been developments against this background and all this proves and we think that the issue of recognizing Karabakh is a burning issue. The Republic of Armenia should recognize the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic,” Mr. Hakobyan said, meaning the fact of returning the Azerbaijani officer who had axed an Armenian officer to Azerbaijan and the developments that had followed.
