And Hrayr Tovmasyan, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, will consider Armenia’s possibilities to file a petition in the European Court
Members of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) expressed discontent in their speeches that the opposition MPs had criticized the current government, the executive bodies for not being aware of the deal on returning Safarov to Azerbaijan. Don’t you think that there is a great deal of truth in these rebukes?
* Mr. Nalbandyan will answer your questions more clearly and concretely. He talked about what had been done in this whole period in his speech. However, on the other hand, if all two-three million (he means the population of the Republic of Armenia – N.G.), if all of us had raised this question, we wouldn’t have been successful. If we talk about whether the co-chair countries knew or didn’t know about this, they found out post factum, whereas we found out and tried to take measures concerning that. Those facts will be used to draw up our future tactics and further steps. And it seems that it has become a tradition that the opposition seizes every opportunity to criticize for something and I think it is normal. The important thing is that the executive power must not do things thinking whether the opposition will or won’t criticize. The executive power has responsibility and the executive power pursues a certain

policy here. I think that those accusations that the executive power had not done anything were not grounded.
* Minister of Foreign Affairs Nalbandyan stated in his speech that on September 2, during a meeting with co-chairs, he had realized that they had also known about the process of returning Safarov to Azerbaijan. So, it turns out that Hungary and Azerbaijan have just fooled everyone? How can such a thing be possible?
* You can ask Mr. Nalbandyan that question. I said in my speech that one shouldn’t belittle this and say, you know, we are victims, all that was done to our citizen, we are indignant. If a Frenchman kills an Englishman in Spain, then Spain hands him over to France, France makes a hero of him and there are a few opinions of the international community that this is not the Europe we want to pass on to our children. If that is Europe, a murderer is a hero in that Europe, we have nothing to do in that Europe. Therefore, Europe, the international community and the European community should give a clear response to that. This was the reason for inviting the ambassadors, drawing their attention and passing those messages to them. Therefore, this is a process and it doesn’t finish by this. Hungary must prove to the international community that it didn’t participate in this conspiracy. It must manifest itself in different ways. Let us wait for the steps. Let us see what is done and how it is done.
Not only don’t those partial and inarticulate explanations of Azerbaijan convince me, but they also cannot convince anyone else. That puerile approach to appear as a hero in the eyes of his nation what the Azerbaijani president did, I think the international community must give a response to that.
* The issue of recognizing the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic has been much talked about. Is it time for that?
* It is an issue to be solved in the political context.
* A proposal was made to defend the rights of the Republic of Armenia in the European Court. Is it prospective?
* After considering all our possibilities, strong and weak sides, I will present those steps to the public.
