In response to our observation that it cost 15m AMD, what economy one could talk about, Mr. Melkumyan assured that it was not about the price, but operation, “If we operate Volga 31, it will be more costly. One should consider it in terms of operation. Then one should consider another issue too. It depends where those cars will go. If they will be only in downtown, it is a different matter, but if they have business in the regions, they go there, in
different climatic conditions, drive on highways, there are winter problems; one should consider those seasonal problems. I am for economical ones, given these conditions.”
Let us note that we examined the abilities of Toyota Camry after Mr. Melkumyan’s assurances to understand how economical it was. Let us note that it consumes 11 liters of fuel in urban areas, whereas, for example, Toyota Vitz, which is much cheaper than Camry, consumes 5 litters of fuel and its spare parts are cheaper.
