“The Armenian National Congress (ANC) Will Agree, but Robert Kocharyan Will Hardly Agree to Be the ANC Candidate,” Vahan Hovhannisyan Says

September 18,2012 18:33

In the run-up to the presidential election, there are speculations that Robert Kocharyan may be the joint candidate of the ANC and the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP). www.aravot.am inquired of Vahan Hovhannisyan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Bureau whether it was probable. Mr. Hovhannisyan replied, “What can I say? If you can imagine Robert Kocharyan agreeing to be the ANC candidate….” We asked whether the ANC would agree that he was their candidate, Mr. Hovhannisyan said in response, “The ANC will agree. Therefore, I don’t think it is probable more because Robert Kocharyan will not agree to be the ANC candidate. I think Robert Kocharyan will hardly agree to be the ANC candidate, if, certainly, he decides to be a candidate, which I doubt, in the first place.”
