What happened to Vardan Ayvazyan the other day is still discussed by the general public. Let us remind that the US Marshals Service, Southern District of New York, issued a writ of execution against Vardan Ayvazyan and in favor of Global Gold Mining (GGM) LLC. Consequently, according to the decision in favor of GGM, thirty seven million five hundred and thirty-seven thousand nine hundred and seventy-eight US dollars and two cents ($37,537,978.02) must be paid by Vardan Ayvazyan. The latter expressed his disagreement with the verdict publicly, but said nothing about appealing the verdict or launching an investigation.
Yeghia Nersisyan, an environmentalist, also noticed that and said during a conversation with www.aravot.am, “I have heard that Vardan Ayvazyan even tried to make a national hero of himself as if he is the savior of the state. However, the so-called Vardan Ayvazyan is the man who sold Armenia; Armenia was sold when he held the office. He must be tried, he gave the permissions to exploit all the mines and there are mines registered under his son’s name in Hrazdan and various districts of Armenia. Vardan Ayvazyan was the one who gave the
license of the Teghut mine. And these are the very reasons why he doesn’t want to go into the mentioned case.”
