Tigran Mukuchyan, the Central Election Commission chairman, told www.aravot.am that no applications had been made to the central and district commissions regarding any violations that had taken place in the local elections on September 9.
The most surprising and amusing alert for Mr. Mukuchyan was from Vanadzor regarding cardboard voting booths, “There was nothing extraordinary, because those same voting booths were used during the general election, even during the former general election in Yerevan and there has never been anything surprising, there has never been any problem
with that voting booth. In this case, saying that there are new voting booths in Vanadzor, which cause certain problems, is just surprising. There were alerts when they said that there was little light, there was no pen in the voting booth… there has been no disruption of the election caused by these, in my opinion.”

Mr. Mukuchyan doesn’t see anything strange about the disappearance of stamps either. He assured that a few incidents took place in the morning and the problem was solved very quickly, “That problem was solved rather quickly, it was very interesting that there was a case when a member of the same commission who was a voter of the same electoral district was the first voter at that polling station and the stamp in his passport didn’t disappear, but the stamp in another citizen’s passport started to disappear. As for carousels, ballot stuffing, there has been no such thing in any community.”
As for the information published in the press that during the election, there had been cases of using violence in some polling stations, Mr. Mukuchyan said that the police had quickly responded and an investigation was under way.
