The preliminary investigation into charges of banditry, brigandage, preparing a holdup, misappropriating vehicles, circulating narcotics without a purpose of realization brought against 6 persons has been finished by the main investigation department of the police under the Government of the Republic of Armenia. And a few days ago the charges against Artush Hakobyan, Samvel Davtyan, Kyaram Amoyan, Arman Dallakyan, Artur Manukyan and Davit Galstyan were separated from the main case and sent to the trial court of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts, City of Yerevan. Let us remind that during a conversation with www.aravot.am, Hovik Arsenyan, Artush Hakobyan’s counselor, informed that he had filed a motion asking to restart the preliminary investigation, since incomplete and superstitious investigation had been conducted, the investigation had basically not been conducted. However, the motion was denied and moreover, the case was sent to court a few days after that. www.aravot.am got comments from H. Arsenyan in this regard. He stated, “What can I do? That is their right and they did it. However, I am still convinced that Artush Hakobyan has nothing to do with it and is not guilty and I will continue defending his interests.”
Commenting on what had happened, Mr. Arsenyan noted, “The term for arrest was nearly over, therefore, they had to manage to get the case into the court, since one cannot be remanded for more than one year. I will file a motion to the court asking it to request the transcriptions of incoming and outgoing calls from mobile phone operators. I will file a motion that when the Chief of Police said during press conferences that Artush Hakobyan was the organizer and the leader of the gang, there is no evidence proving that in the case.”
