The deed of Lieutenant Colonel Vardan Samvelyan who went to blow Harsnakar up on July 1 aimed at distracting their struggle, in We Demand to Punish All Those Guilty of the Harsnakar Incident initiative activist Zaruhi Hovhannisyan’s opinion.
According to the activist, both the reasons and the other details of that story are incomprehensible for her, “I cannot curse Samvelyan and say it was a show, but it is an incredible story for me. A man who demanded justice would have continued the struggle, there are 1500 ways of restoring justice. It seems to me that it aimed at causing a stress in the information flow, because we started to consistently work in the legal area at that time without using violence. That fact aimed at distracting our struggle – look there is such an incident too, you can use these methods.” Activist Z. Hovhannisyan thinks it is suspicious that Samvelyan was not charged with an attempt to blow Harsnakar up, but with illegally
keeping weapons and ammunition in his garage in the trial court of the administrative districts of Avan and Nork Marash today, “I said at the beginning that the proceedings would be rather amusing, he would never be charged with an attempt to blow Harsnakar up. I think they have a task to attribute violence to activist movements, they want to distract our struggle and to attribute to it a style, which is not ours.”
