Pashinyan Thanks Kovalenko Shahgaldyan for Condescending to Come and Not Speaking Via Skype

September 25,2012 17:01

“Are there kickbacks in your region? They speak about some kickbacks,” Nikol Pashinyan, an Armenian National Congress (ANC) MP, asked Artur Nalbandyan, the governor of Lori, during the presentation of the 2011 budget implementation in the National Assembly today. He assured, “There are no such things in our region.”

Nikol Pashinyan was angry with the report made by Kovalenko Shahgaldyan, the governor of Kotayk. He urged those present to browse www.region.am website and to get information on their region from there, “Get acquainted via internet.”

In response to that, Nikol Pashinyan said, “I thank Mr. Shahgaldyan for condescending to come and not making his report via Skype. Let me say what the state budget is, budget is the people’s money, which you spend. Otherwise, we are under the impression that you have come to say that all the money is spent, it had better not turn out that you haven’t managed to spend some 3 million. All of you come and say ‘we have spent, we have spent, don’t

worry.’ We are not worried. Be so kind as to answer these questions, you are so annoyed that you tell us to check out the website. Don’t show us the website! You have come to the National Assembly, answer the questions you are asked. Is it possible that a governor doesn’t know how many students there are in his region? There is emigration nowadays; shall we not understand how he solves those problems? We have barely gotten rid of the website of the Control Chamber, now we have this one.”
