Ashot Grigoryan, the chairman of the Forum of Armenian Associations of Europe (FAAEUROPE), is convinced that the opposition in Armenia has run out of energy and needs an impulse. “The Armenian National Congress (ANC) approaches zero, the Heritage Party also needs refreshment. Unfortunately, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), which is a huge force in the Diaspora, is not able to yield such results in Armenia that could have been yielded. The Diaspora is very displeased, treats with great displeasure the fact that the ARF has been discredited itself a few times and hasn’t swum against the current a few times in the past few years. All parties have stagnated besides the Prosperous Armenia Party. The PAP owes its progress to the Republican Party,” Mr. Grigoryan told www.aravot.am. In his words, “The inappropriate attacks of the Republican Party have made the Prosperous Armenia Party rally around Oskanian. Gagik Tsarukyan who constantly hesitates seems to have become stronger and the party has been consolidated and gained a political image.”
Mr. Grigoryan treats the speculations that the RPA creates an oppositionist of Vartan Oskanian skeptically, “The Armenian people stand out for their unique imagination… it is like a fairy tale. The enmity between the RPA and the PAP gradually deepens and we don’t expect anything good as a result of that.”
