“I notice rumblings in the ANC. I see different opinions, why not, also different votes. Representatives of the same parliamentary group vote differently. I think it is normal, because to have an opinion and diversity always brings about progress,” Naira Karapetyan, the secretary of the United Liberal National Party (ULNP) and a Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP, expressed this idea during a conversation with www.aravot.am today.
In response to our question whether she thought following the Congress activities that the ANC had weakened, since pivotal figures of the Congress – Davit Shahnazaryan, Smbat Ayvazyan, Aram Z. Sargsyan – had withdrawn from the Congress since 2008, during the past 4 years, Naira Karapetyan said, “I don’t know, maybe it hasn’t weakened, maybe as a result of these rumblings, the ANC will become stronger and, sorry for the language, the rats will desert it and the strong backbone will remain. I am not inside, but as a looker-on, I see that something goes on there.”
