“I Didn’t Eat Any Sandwich,” Armen Rustamyan Says About the Joint Staff

October 22,2012 16:14

www.aravot.am inquired of Armen Rustamyan, a representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Supreme Body, today whether he had known that the joint staff belonged to the PAP and that it was financed by Gagik Tsarukyan, he gave sandwiches. Armen Rustamyan laughed, “We didn’t eat any sandwiches. I didn’t. How can I know what they gave? The Union of Political Scientists worked there, let them say what they financed. There was no issue of financing whatsoever. We have been expressing the idea of the joint staff since 2002.”

In response to our observation that Hmayak Hovhannisyan, the president of the Union of Political Scientists, assures that on the 8th day of each month Gagik Tsarukyan sent money for the joint staff and it turns out that he, being a member of the joint staff, had worked for the PAP, Armen Rustamyan said, “I didn’t eat any sandwiches there, what did he finance

for? I didn’t know about such financing. There is no such thing. What financing? He provided premises; we would gather there, that’s all. It was before your eyes.”

In response to our observation that coffee etc. had been paid for by the PAP, Armen Rustamyan said the following, “I drank coffee in our place too, shall I count it too? Keeping the joint staff didn’t cost anything. The joint staff didn’t spend any money, we didn’t go to regions. The joint staff made a few statements; one doesn’t need money for that. Yes, perhaps, they made some copies of those statements at that moment … that was the expenses.”
