Karine Hakobyan, a former member of the Heritage Party executive committee, is convinced that the Heritage Party is not represented in the National Assembly anymore. “In reality, there has been no coalition. From the beginning. I am surprised that it wasn’t clear for Raffi Hovhannisyan. Raffi Hovhannisyan proved to be credulous; he didn’t realize and made a mistake. Hovhannisyan’s decision to vacate his seat was his second mistake, which evicted the party from the National Assembly. The Heritage Party is not represented in the National Assembly anymore,” Ms. Hakobyan told www.aravot.am about the statement of Khachatur
Kokobelyan, the leader of the Free Democrats Party, that they would formally remain in the Heritage Party parliamentary group, but would represent the Free Democrats Party.
“When the purpose is not clear for the society from the beginning – I don’t want to say not fair – such an end must not be surprising for anyone. They might have bigger plans, but when we analyze their steps, it is not convincing either. Because if they had had big plans, they wouldn’t have been afraid of a coalition, but they were afraid even of that 7 percent. Thus, they knew from the beginning that it would be 5 percent and the issue of those big plans and aims is taken off the agenda. A small task remains – to appear in the National Assembly, to become an MP. The Free Democrats Party performed a small, limited task joining the Heritage Party. In reality, they have fulfilled a short-term plan to appear in the National Assembly,” the former member of the Heritage Party continued. Ms. Hakobyan doesn’t blame the Free Democrats; she is just surprised at why the Heritage Party acted in such a way, “Raffi Hovhannisyan made a mistake. It would be better not to participate in the election at all than to accept that 5 percent, such an offensive condition, after such big plans.”
