For political scientist Hmayak Hovhannisyan, it is obvious that the idea of participating in the presidential election jointly with the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) dominates in the ANC. “It means that adopting that tactic, the ANC must wait and see what the PAP will decide, then make up their mind about the choice that is more preferable for them. If they have waited for so long and haven’t talked about the format of their participation in the presidential election, it means that they may endorse the PAP candidate,” Mr. Hovhannisyan said to www.aravot.am reminding that as early as on October 26, 2007, Levon Ter-Petrossian had stated that he would announce his candidacy for the presidential election, “And today is October 27 already, but the ANC hasn’t made up its mind yet. Moreover, it doesn’t hold an ANC rally, which it talked about as early as in the summer that in September, it would hold a rally in Freedom Square.”
The contradictions between Nikol Pashinyan and Levon Zurabyan, ANC MPs, regarding cooperation with the PAP were also obvious for the political scientist, “Those contradictions were doubtless.” According to Mr. Hovhannisyan, L. Zurabyan thinks that the tactic of
joining the PAP is a right decision, “It is his opinion that by combining the capabilities, one can achieve a change of government.”
