Armenian, Iranian musicians to perform recital in Tehran

Russian-born Armenian pianist Artur Avanesov and Iranian viola virtuoso Adel Pursamadi are scheduled to perform a recital in Tehran.

Compositions by the Russian musician Dmitri Shostakovich (1906–1975) and several other prominent composers will be performed during the recital at Rudaki Hall on November 10.
Avanesov is a composer of chamber, choral, vocal and piano works that have been performed in many countries including Switzerland, USA, Japan, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, Canada and Russia.
He studied piano and composition at the Yerevan State Conservatory (Armenia), simultaneously taking piano master courses abroad, notably as a member of the Lucerne Festival Academy 2003-05. Currently he is a lecturer at the Yerevan Conservatory and holds a Doctor of Arts degree.

Avanesov has been a member of the Swiss ensemble Laboratorium since 2005.
