“Members of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Breathe in and out Very Easily, and They Are Not Holding Their Breath,” Hamlet Harutyunyan Says to Naira Zohrabyan

November 19,2012 09:44

Naira Zohrabyan, the secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), said in response to those who criticized the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) that at present the whole political stage was holding its breath, waiting for the PAP to make a decision.

In this regard, Hamlet Harutyunyan, a member of the RPA parliamentary group, assured during a conversation with www.aravot.am: “Republicans breathe in and out very easily, and they are not holding their breath. The opposition is their back room; there are many issues to be revealed. And the Republican Party is preparing for the presidential election and is not

among those who are holding their breath. There is a problem of the joint candidate in the opposition; there is an issue of reputation, party prestige. We don’t have those problems. When we are engaged in organizational issues, they are engaged in negotiations, isn’t it natural that we will be better prepared? We don’t want certain names to be given to our 4-wheel cart, in order that the story of the well-known fable doesn’t repeat.”

The RPA MP assures that the RPA and the PAP are not enemies: “We are rivals.” In response to our question what he thought of the series of consultations initiated by the PAP, Hamlet Harutyunyan said, “Knowing the challenges facing our country, national-patriotic forces should rally around the president, those that consider themselves national. And it is clear whom the rest will join. One thinks of a change of government, the other thinks of the country’s future. These are different directions.”
