Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), said in an interview yesterday that he had already made a decision on the presidential election, but he still expected the response of his fellow party members and other parties. www.aravot.am inquired of Mkrtich Minasyan, an RPA MP, whether there was a certain implication in the statement, if the decision had been made, why the PAP leader was reluctant to make it public. “You should ask him or his press secretary those questions. To put it mildly, I cannot afford to express an opinion in their stead. It is their problem. There is a saying: yesterday was too early, today is too late; one should have done it at night. Now they will decide when the right moment for them to express their opinion is,” Mkrtich Minasyan said. We also inquired whether Tsarukyan’s statements had caused anxiety in the RPA. The response was: “Not at all. We said at the time that there should be someone; all this talk leads to that.” In response to another question of www.aravot.am what impact it would have on the RPA, if Gagik Tsarukyan stated about his nomination for the presidential election, the RPA MP said: “Normal. It is normal, what is the problem? We are sure to succeed, we trust our people’s will, abilities, assessment of truth and we are hopeful that our best work will show that the people have a clear orientation. For me, there are no two ways about it.”
