“If We Had Closed the Door of the Hall, if We Hadn’t Allowed Them to Come, It Would Have Been Unconstitutional,” Hovhannes Sahakyan Says

November 22,2012 15:43

Hovhannes Sahakyan, a Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP, assessed the proposal of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) to apply to the National Assembly ethics committee as groundless during a conversation with www.aravot.am, saying: “I am surprised that such experienced people express such an idea. I was inexcusably absent. I will not bring a medical certificate because of that. I was inexcusably absent, because, say, I was at another event, I went to someone’s place. If my unexcused absences account for more than a half of meetings, I will vacate my seat.”

As for applying to the Constitutional Court, Hovhannes Sahakyan assured that there had been nothing unconstitutional in what they had done, since they had allowed to convene a meeting: “If we had closed the door of the hall, if we hadn’t allowed them to come, if we had stolen the paper, or I don’t know, if we had done such a thing, it would have been unconstitutional.”
