“A Lot of Issues Will Be Revealed,” Zoya Tadevosyan Says About Ter-Petrossian’s Silence

November 23,2012 20:18

In response to a question of www.aravot.am whether it was acceptable for her that the silence of Levon Ter-Petrossian, the leader of the ANC, today, his nomination and many other issues on the political stage depended on the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), Zoya Tadevosyan, a member of the ANC, said: “You know what, there is silence that is worth golden words. This is it. Silence offers an opportunity to make a better decision. I think after silence, the time will come for speaking, and then a lot of issues will be revealed.”

We inquired whether she also expected storms to be created by the ANC. She said: “I don’t expect storms. Now if an idiom has been used, one shouldn’t focus on that and mention it all the time. It is normal; a word has been uttered.” Let us remind that Lyudmila Sargsyan, an ANC MP, had informed journalists about the storm.

Ms. Tadevosyan also stated: “While solving an issue, one can often let those for whom that issue will be solved take certain actions. The issue is a very important one. One or two dozens of people cannot solve that issue.” In response to our question whether it could turn out afterwards that they were just personal issues, Zoya Tadevosyan denied: “No, never. I have never suspected and don’t suspect the founding president of our republic of solving personal issues.”

Zoya Tadevosyan joined the protest of the ANC activists organized outside the National Assembly yesterday. “It is an attitude characteristic of gangsters,” Ms. Tadevosyan said about the fact that the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) had disrupted the extraordinary session, “If they are really more or less interested in carrying out reforms in this country and jointly moving the country just a little bit away from perdition toward stabilization, they have to jointly work. The proposal of MPs representing the opposition parliamentary groups is a rational one. And if you are loved by the people as a party, if you say ‘Who doubts that Serzh Sargsyan will be reelected?’ come and prove that you are right. You have a big opportunity to do that. Why don’t you do that? Because you are afraid. They are afraid of legitimate elections. I can assert that this government violates the Constitution in the same manner as it violates traffic rules. Driving through a red light is their ordinary behavior.”

Talking about whether getting rid of the Serzh Sargsyan regime was on the PAP agenda, Zoya Tadevosyan said that this task had to be undertaken by every citizen and every party

more or less concerned about our country: “We will see in the short run whether it has consciousness. I don’t want to express an opinion. I just want to wait and see what actions the prominent members of that party will take in the short run, and generally, what decision the party will make.”
