A set of the Congress members are engaged in propaganda on Facebook against Styopa Safaryan nominated in no. 1 electoral district. When Armenak Dovlatyan, the head of the Green Union of Armenia, withdrew his candidacy, a tide rose on Facebook that the opposition basically didn’t have a candidate in Avan. Styopa Safaryan, the secretary general of the Heritage Party, said in this regard during a conversation with www.aravot.am: “Well, if they are surprised at who the opposition is, that means that a flood has washed it away.”
Mr. Safaryan assured that Sona Muradyan from the ANC was with him, in his headquarters day and night: “You know, a few incomprehensible things on Facebook don’t mean anything. Many good people from the ANC are with me both in Avan and Nor Nork, because we are old friends. What some people write on Facebook is their problem. Many
people from the ANC are with me, thus, I am convinced that there is no propaganda against me at the level of the political force.”

In response to our observation that they accused the Heritage Party of being hand in hand with the government during the joint staff too, Styopa Safaryan said: “Perhaps their business on Facebook is that very thing, perhaps they are paid for that very thing, I don’t know. I can say one thing – I know many people, I am aware of many people’s mentality, as well as their psychological problems, thus, frankly speaking, I don’t answer for the reason of pity.”
