Belgian student dies mysteriously in Istanbul

A Belgian student in Istanbul who was found lying unconscious in a Beyoğlu street last night has died after being taken to hospital, CNNTürk reported today.

Nathan van Iseghem, a 20-year-old university student, was taken to hospital after witnesses called police and paramedics, but doctors were unable to save him.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and have not ruled out murder.

The student’s body has been sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.
