“As a matter of fact I know about some conflict from the mass media, moreover, very little. I am not aware of that, frankly speaking. I know about the car accident, and I am thankful to God that nothing happened to him, there is no danger to his health,” Levon Sargsyan, the Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Lebanon and a brother to the incumbent President of the Republic of Armenia, who was present at the Republican Party of Armenia (PAP) congress as a guest, said during a conversation with www.aravot.am about the news regarding the son of his other brother, Sashik Sargsyan. Let us remind that the
latter, according to the information in the press, had some misunderstanding and argument with Khachatur Sukiasyan’s brother, fired shots in the city.
We inquired whether Levon Sargsyan, getting little information from the press, didn’t try to call and find out the details, whether he didn’t communicate with his brother’s family. Levon Sargsyan got annoyed: “Sure I do, I always do; we are in touch. It is just that I haven’t been here for a long time; I was in Lebanon, preparing the president’s visit ex officio. That is it. I don’t have any other information.”
Levon Sargsyan said that he was sure that Serzh Sargsyan would be reelected. He didn’t agree that there was no alternative to Sargsyan, saying that there was still time left, people could announce their candidacies, “Perhaps, there will be. Why do you say so all the time?” We also inquired why he was so sure that the president would be reelected, “Is the parliamentary election not enough? I think the parliamentary election is a serious reason, the fact that the party he leads won gives me a serious reason to be sure.”

As for the position of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), Levon Sargsyan said: “I think those people were sure that they would not win; that is why they didn’t nominate anyone.” He is not aware of speculations that Gagik Tsarukyan didn’t announce his candidacy under pressure from Serzh Sargsyan.
