“Saying That Jhangiryan Is Guilty Hints at Having Some Problem,” an Armenian National Congress (ANC) Activist Says About the Mataghis Case

December 21,2012 22:45

“I didn’t write on Facebook that Gagik Jhangiryan is not guilty. I don’t know the details of the case. I just say that before saying that Gagik Jhangiryan is guilty, one should tell the names of people who continued that work style, if it is criminal. Singling out Gagik Jhangiryan from that whole group and saying that Gagik Jhangiryan is guilty hints at having some problem, and they have pinned the Mataghis case on Gagik Jhangiryan,” Sargis Gevorgyan, an ANC activist, expressed such an opinion during a conversation with www.aravot.am today.

In his words, “Those people who connect the Mataghis case only with Gagik Jhangiryan, just try to do that artificially. I don’t know the details of the case, but for me personally, besides the court verdict, which I cannot undoubtedly accept, given today’s legal system, nothing convinces me that those guys are innocent. And the other way around, nothing convinces me that those guys are murderers.”

Let us remind that the trial court of the region of Shirak brought in a verdict of not guilty on Razmik Sargsyan, Arayik Zalyan and Musa Serobyan, who were declared guilty in the Mataghis case.
