Mher Arshakyan, a journalist of A1+, had informed that he was going to make a report on a crime to the Armenian Attorney General’s office today. Let us remind that the reason for the journalist’s report was the incident that took place between him and Mher Sedrakyan, a member of the National Assembly, last week; in particular, MP Mher Sedrakyan threatened him: “Get out of her, otherwise I will break your jaw, get out.”
Mher Sedrakyan released a statement today, a short while ago, in which he expressed regret about the incident. He stated: “I regret about the incident between the journalist of the A1+ TV channel and me in the National Assembly a few days ago. Yes, the honorable journalist managed to make me nervous, then distort the reality, editing everything. However, it is not

important anymore. Perhaps, in this case, both the journalist and the MP need to apologize to the whole society, particularly all journalists; the former for violating journalistic ethics and the latter for violating MP ethics. I honestly express my regret about the words I said in a state of nervousness,” the statement reads. www.aravot.am called M. Arshakyan to find out whether the statement of the MP sufficed him, and whether he would report to the Armenian Attorney General’s Office. The journalist told us that he didn’t make decisions on his own anymore and suggested that we clear up the details from A1+.
Mesrop Movsesyan, the director of A1+, informed during a conversation with us: “We will file a petition in the National Assembly Ethics Commission, since Mher Sedrakyan hasn’t apologized. Whether we will report to the Attorney General’s Office or not will depend on the decision of the Ethics Commission. And we will file a petition in the commission today or tomorrow.
“Certainly, the statement doesn’t suffice, since the MP doesn’t apologize. And the provocative part of the statement, to put it mildly, doesn’t correspond to the reality.”
