“Tovmasyan Has Never Been Allowed Anywhere Near the Communist Party, as He Was a Grafter,” a Response to Calling Him “Political Whore”

January 10,2013 15:17

“I will respond to Ruben Tovmasyan now that this person hadn’t been in the Communist Party before 1999, he hadn’t been allowed near it, as he had been a grafter; we hadn’t known him. He was the head of the weakest district institution, when he was in power. And that person became the leader, splitting up the Communist Party, and he continues the same activities now. He is not splitting up; it’s over, that party doesn’t exist any more, because of him. And that person allows himself to make speeches and say that I am wanted. I am 100% sure he will be wanted by the people, as he wants to completely destroy the Communist ideology,” Robert Aharonyan, a former candidate for president, said during a conversation with www.aravot.am today in response to the criticism made by Ruben Tovmasyan, the leader of the Communist Party.

Let us remind that the latter said that Lenin had considered the likes of Robert Aharonyan as “political whores.”

The candidate who had announced his candidacy and had withdrawn it assured that he had never been wanted. As for what reasons Ruben Tovmasyan had, according to Aharonyan, “perhaps, he was looking for me and couldn’t find me.”

In response to a question whether it was so hard to find him in the country, he said: “No, our offices are right next to each other. That person just doesn’t know what to say.”

He urged Ruben Tovmasyan to make way for youth, since, according to him, there are good young forces in the Communist Party.
