The ANC and those who take a similar attitude really suffered a crushing defeat because of an absolutely wrong line they had taken,” Arshak Sadoyan, the CEO of the National Cooperation Foundation, said when asked whether given the internal political situation, the main political forces’ refusal to participate in the election was a boycott, as oppositionists claimed, or the opposition’s defeat, as the government thought.
Then A. Sadoyan talked about the issue in detail, “I think it is not right to speak on the whole opposition’s behalf. With regard to the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), I don’t think that it could be
considered as serious opposition. With regard to Raffi Hovhannisyan, Raffi will really try to take steps, but I don’t think he will be able to win the presidential election.”
Mr. Sadoyan offers using new internet methods as a way out of the current “disgraceful” situation in the opposition camp. In this regard, he revealed: “Method 1 should be creation of mutual assistance institutions, which will help people be more closely connected; there won’t be mere struggle between parties, mechanisms of mutual protection and mutual aid are needed.”
