A short while ago, a few people who had been fired by newly-elected mayor of Gyumri Samvel Balasanyan told www.aravot.am that they would go to the workplace of Sahak Manasyan, the RPA Shirak office manager, in the next few days and withdraw their membership of the party. For the moment, they asked not to make their names public, promising to invite www.aravot.am to that ceremony too.
Already unemployed workers explained their intention in the following way, “Samvel Balasanyan who wasn’t elected, but appointed by Serzh Sargsyan in return for being grateful to him didn’t respect members of the RPA. Now we will withdraw our membership of the RPA, because we have seen that the ruling party cannot defend its members; basically the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) is more powerful, since it can fire members of the RPA without serious reasons.”
Let us mention that this is about those people who worked and became members of the RPA during Vardan Ghukasyan’s tenure, but have been fired by Mayor Samvel Balasanyan for different reasons.
