The Police of the Republic of Armenia has made public the overall number of voters in the voters’ register, which is 2 508 000 as of 1/19/2013, whereas that number was 2 484 000 during the parliamentary election that took place on May 6, 2012; so the number of voters has increased by 24 000 in nine months.
According to the census, 2 871 509 people lived in Armenia on October 12, 2011.
If we take into account that according to the data of the migration agency, 42 700 people emigrated from the Republic of Armenia in 2012, it turns out that there are 2 508 000 voters among 2 828 000 people who live in the Republic of Armenia now.
It is obvious that if the number of residents in Armenia continues to decrease and the number of voters continues to increase at the same rate, in the next parliamentary election, the number of citizens included in the voters’ register will exceed the overall number of people who live in Armenia, including minors.
