“Bagratyan Just Has Something to Say; He Doesn’t Struggle,” Hmayak Hovhannisyan Says

February 04,2013 11:11

According to Hmayak Hovhannisyan, the president of the Union of Political Scientists, the candidates for president are engaged in criticizing each other, rather than struggling.

“Hrant Bagratyan is a good economist, but he just has his say, he doesn’t struggle, because a struggle aims at achieving results. However, no matter how much the candidates say that they can achieve a runoff, we can see that they throw javelins at each other, rather than jointly throw a javelin at one target. It is quite clear that everyone struggles to come second,” the political scientist said to www.aravot.am.

Mr. Hovhannisyan also said that Bagratyan hadn’t withstood the temptation to play the role of the opposition’s leader and had grabbed the opportunity offered by this election.

He was also displeased with the fact that the joint statement of three candidates for president, Raffi Hovhannisyan, Hrant Bagratyan, and Paruyr Hayrikyan, had repeated the petition filed by the joint staff in the Constitutional Court. “However, a question arises why they didn’t support our statement that had been rejected by the Constitutional Court after the parliamentary election and had merely made a formal statement.”
