The Russian Embassy in Armenia refuses to comment on the claims of Paruyr Hayrikyan, a candidate for president, that Imperialistic Russia was behind the assassination attempt on him. During a conversation with www.aravot.am, Sergei Abelyan, the spokesperson for the embassy, said that the candidate for president, as any citizen who was not engaged in politics, could express suspicions, but they were not going to comment on unspecific suspicions. “Mr. Hayrikyan didn’t accuse anyone specifically. There are competent bodies in Armenia who are required to solve the crime.”
Mr. Abelyan never commented on any suspicion expressed by Hayrikyan about the assassination attempt.
