Family is more important to them than anything and Kim and Khloe Kardashian have turned to their fans in a bid to help their ill cousin.
Cici has been battling cancer for 17 years and needs a bone marrow transplant as she has stopped responding to chemotherapy drugs.
The reality stars both posted entries to their blogs urging their fans to offer to donate as a match could prolong Cici’s life by many years.
Cici needs an Armenian donor as she is from Armenian descent, so Kim and Khloe are urging members of the community to register to donate in the hope that one of them will be a match for Cici.
Doting Kardashian fans immediately sprung into action, attempting to get ‘#HelpCici’ trending on Twitter to raise awareness.
Kim explained the two processes for donating bone marrow and assured her blog’s readers that donating ‘is actually not as scary as it sounds’.
Unfortunately it seems that despite the vast size of the Kardashian clan, none of them have proved a match just yet.
n response to a follower, Khloe tweeted: ‘We have been tested. Matches aren’t easy to come by.’
But the 28-year-old is determined to keep positive – just like her cousin.
She tweeted: ‘I have never met any person in my life who lives life to the fullest every single day! That’s my cici! Always smiling.’
Khloe then added: ‘We have been praying for 17 years Cici and God has been so great to us! We are magical moon babies 😉 always positive always in faith.’
At the end of last year Kim regularly posted blog entries about a young man named Zeke who was in need of a heart transplant.
And it all paid off as Kim revealed two weeks ago that Zeke is currently in hospital after surgery and has a new heart.
Kim has been promoting a silent auction fundraiser for Zeke and his family, which is set to take place at Mixology at The Grove in Los Angeles on February 21 and will be hosted by Mario Lopez and Maria Menounos. Tickets are available here with a donation.
It is a trying time for Kim, who is currently attempting to speed up her divorce from Kris Humphries so that she is not still legally married when she gives birth to her first child with Kanye West.
‘I firmly believe that an immediate dissolution of our marriage will help create a new, full life for me,’ she wrote in court papers filed last month, according to People. ‘One chapter will be officially over, and a new one can begin. The same should hold true for (Humphries).
‘I do not want to be married to (Humphries) when I have my baby,’ Kim wrote, revealing that her due date is early July.
‘I am requesting the status of my marriage be determined for now for not only my health and welfare but also for the health and well-being of my unborn child.’
She also added that this could affect her financially.
Kim wrote: ‘I should not be constrained in my financial and social endeavors by the fact that (Humphries) and I have a marriage which now exists in name only. I do not want the status of my marriage to affect any investment I wish to make, such as the purchase of a new residence.’
But Kris Humphries’ attorney has reportedly stated that Kris has nothing to do with Kim’s ‘unplanned pregnancy’ and therefore it should have no impact on their litigation.
Meanwhile Kris Jenner, Kim’s mother, said on The View on Wednesday: ‘Kim has been going through this divorce. She has been under a lot stress because of it.’
The ‘momager’ added that the stress Kim was going through could effect her pregnancy.
‘She had a bad week. The doctors told her the stress is going to be a problem [with pregnancy],’ she said.
