“Ask the Republican candidate what signs of a democratic election there are. There have only been empty statements so far. However, we can see that the whole administrative resource has covertly been mobilized again, can’t we? Making lists of residents, handing out money, all these processes are there,” Karapet Rubinyan, the coordinator of the Committee of Political Prisoners and Politically Persecuted Persons of Armenia, said, talking about President Serzh Sargsyan’s claims that they would do everything that was necessary to hold this election in accordance with democratic standards.
He also participated in the demonstration demanding “End to the regime” today.
One of the demonstrators, Artur Ghazaryan, who was holding a poster captioned “End to kickbacks, end to the regime” put forward his way of ending the regime. “An end to the regime is put during elections, but since everything is distorted in our country, elections stop working. For that, a link is established between the Central Election Commission and the center of European observers. This will signify the connection between the falsifiers – the election commission and the European observers.”
As we have already informed, today’s demonstration was accompanied by clashes between police officers and activists. The police officers would pull the activists around from time to time, not allowing them to go up to the Presidential Palace.

After long negotiations, the police officers allowed them to do that, but on condition that they would go up the other side of the sidewalk. More than fifty police officers worked with clear instructions from their superiors.
The commander threatened one of the police officers to fire him. “Where are you 16? I will fire you.”
By the way, the famous woman who praises Serzh Sargsyan also appeared at today’s demonstration.
