The candidate for president talks about the president’s remarks in Ejmiatsin

“Following what the president says, you can guess that the situation in Armenia has changed in a month,” Raffi Hovhannisyan, a candidate for president, said during a meeting with voters in Ejmiatsin today. In his words, “They would say a month ago that everything is predetermined. Stay home, curse the darkness, sit on your hands and send your children to Russia or America, but we have changed over the past month. We have changed not for Raffi, but for ourselves. We know that respected Mr. Sargsyan responds to my speeches. I am grateful; it would be better to have a debate.

It is good that he responds, because he knows that it is a struggle, a struggle between the Constitution and the government.” “I am not a messiah, nor am I a prophet. I go to Baku as one of you. I work and repay my ancestors and my children. Sometimes I fall, but I don’t kneel, I make mistakes and apologize. I feel responsibility. God granted us life to change our country,” the candidate for president said. He promised to root out corruption in the legal, fiscal and customs systems, to give to the people what belonged to the people. “It doesn’t matter whether you voted for the Armenian National Congress (ANC), the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), or the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) 5 months ago, we are turning over a new leaf. It is adventurism when the governor of Lori summons his employees to give a party order. It is adventurism when in the president’s place of birth, the village of Tegh, the president’s picture is on the regional administration building. Yet, they talk about free and fair elections; they talk about international standards. Let him tell those tales to himself. I am not afraid to say that Serzh Sargsyan made a contribution to the Artsakh war of existence, but I am not afraid to criticize. There is emigration; it is a pain, a tragedy. Can you imagine what the situation will be like in 5 years from now?” According to the candidate for president, one shouldn’t drink to Armenia from Glendale; if they want everything to be fine in the fatherland, they should make the right decision on February 18. The candidate for president also entered the Mother Cathedral of Holy Ejmiatsin, attended the mass, said “Happy Candlemas” to the newlyweds, and wished them eternal love.
