The manager of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Shirak offices is convinced that Serzh Sargsyan will win even in Raffiophile Gyumri. As we have informed, among the candidates for president, Raffi Hovhannisyan, the Heritage Party leader, received the warmest welcome in Gyumri in the sense that there were many people in the theater hall, it was packed, and most importantly, they didn’t ensure that many people came, no one was compelled to come and listen to this candidate. Seeing the liking of many residents of Gyumri for Raffi Hovhannisyan, www.aravot.am asked Sahak Minasyan, the manager of the RPA Shirak offices, whether he still thought that Serzh Sargsyan would
win in Raffiophile Gyumri. “Absolutely, our candidate will win; I am more than convinced in that, and that conviction is grounded. That conviction is my political opinion, and it is not only mine, but also that of the residents of Gyumri. And the fact that the welcome Raffi Hovhannisyan received was considered warmer according to some criteria; why don’t they compare that welcome with the welcome received by our candidate when there were 10 thousand people in the square? And when Raffi Hovhannisyan came, in a hall intended for 800 people – I cannot claim it, according to the witnesses – 300-400 people were guests from Yerevan. You know, political technologies offer a lot of opportunities; the political science, in particular, is a made-up science and develops all the time, finding new technologies and new methods. One shouldn’t be surprised that the election campaign of a candidate for president who actually doesn’t have many votes will be conducted, using technologies that we – I mean the population – still consider new. One can copy the way Obama goes from one salon to another, from one district to another and meets with voters and use it in Armenia; I don’t think it will be very efficient. You know, if it was an absolutely new technology, I would welcome it; let’s not talk about Raffi, I mean generally,” said Sahak Minasyan.
