Tigran Mukuchyan, the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), assures that the ballot boxes used at this election were used at the previous elections too and had cracks at the bottom. www.aravot.am inquired of Mr. Mukucyan whether ballot boxes with cracks didn’t contribute or make it easy to stuff ballots. “4-5 elections have been conducted using those ballot boxes, and there have been no such case when they tried to artificially squeeze something through the cracks. It is ridiculous to think of such a thing in principle. The cracks are at the bottom of the ballot box; in order to stuff, they have to turn the ballot box to be able to squeeze something into it by rolling. If someone has decided to commit such a crime – we should judge together – what prevents him from doing the same thing from above? The entry of any additional ballot into the ballot box is a crime, and those who do such a thing will surely be held criminally accountable.”
