“If They Don’t Draw Back, We Will Have an Unfavorable Future,” Raffi Hovhannisyan Says

March 11,2013 10:39

Today www.aravot.am inquired of Raffi Hovhannisyan in Freedom Square why the government wouldn’t ignore one person’s health and life, if it ignored a whole people, what he hoped for. Let us remind that Raffi Hovhannisyan has been on a hunger strike, a fraud strike, and a dread strike since yesterday. In response, he urged to ask them that question. “I will never answer in their stead, nor can I. I think that the situation in Armenia has changed, since the people have had their say, as never after 1988. I think that it will be very good for them and for Armenia, if they take note of that reality, which is a new reality. Let them not lead Armenia to new ordeals, because if they don’t draw back, don’t fix the mistake, and don’t find the resolution along with me, we will have an unfavorable future. That unfavorableness applies to the relationship between the citizen and the government when the people will not recognize the government that has taken away their votes, not to mention that we should not have a government that will not be able to meet the foreign policy challenges and respond to them, make full use of this powerful international potential that is called relations between Armenia and the Diaspora.”
